Artur Schnabel (born in Berlin, March 3, 1882; died in Freiburg im Breisgau, April 2, 1934) was a successful German violinist who toured widely with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. He is best known for his recording of the Beethoven Violin Concerto with Alfred Brendel in 1927. Schnabel is also known for his highly acclaimed interpretations of the Brahms Violin Concerto.
